The R & R that won't end

This year's R & R had not been all that relaxing or restful.  The husband left me in the States with the 3 kids and went back to work.  I am not really looking forward to the flight home alone - I think it is 36 hours??  With a mere hour to change planes in one Asian country.  Not cool at all.

All the traveling around this summer has also not worked out for us.  The children are behaving pretty badly at this point.  All 3 of them.  The 3 year old keeps asking to go home.  4 cities was 3 too many.  Next summer will be different.  I don't know how it will be different yet, but it will be.

Today the boys went to the dentist.  Poor Claire cannot go - after the $900 odd dollars the boys are costing us there, she will have to wait till next summer.  Tomorrow Luke gets his first filling - that should be fun.  He is very into his new electric toothbrush so maybe this will be his last filling.  I hope!

Happy 4th of July

We are in the States for the 4th again this year.  No big plans, just a 6 pack of Sparklers from Target....if my Mom can locate the matches by the time it gets dark.

I have been to a few movies, been to the beach, been to see a giant oak tree and done a LOT of shopping.  I am almost done.  Somethings are just way easier or cheaper to buy here. 

 But I have to say I am missing a few things about Malaysia.  My children's pretty good beahvior and excellent sleeping.  Lime juice.  A good steak dinner and black current juice blended drink from Suzie's Corner.  We arrive back on a Friday, so I hope we are all over the jetlag somewhat by Sunday for our usual dinner out.

Next week - more movies, finishing up the shopping, a trip south for some real shrimp and a few more trips to the beach.

I will be at my parents house for the next 19 days with the 3 kiddos.  What on earth are we going to do to not drive each other crazy?  Here is my short list...

More shopping for Mommy

The fire station museum - hope it isn't too lame

Show shopping for kiddos because they are a pain to buy in KL

A few trips to the library

Hose fun in the yard

Kiddy pool in the yard

Feeding the ducks

And maybe I will take the oldest kayaking

Oh and then there are the doctor and dentist appointments for all

And that is all I have got so far - tomorrow we take the husband to the airport and then I plan to hit the beach
